Backups that are monitored, off-site and ready when you need them

Most businesses discover their backups don't work on the day they need them. We manage and monitor backups for your Linux and Windows servers and critical devices, and build a disaster recovery plan — so recovery is a process, not a gamble.

In short

Rev2IT manages backup and disaster recovery for Linux and Windows servers and critical endpoints. Backup jobs are monitored and failures followed up, copies are kept off-site and isolated from production, and we agree recovery point (RPO) and recovery time (RTO) targets with you, then design the recovery plan to meet them.

The problem

The backup problems we see most

Backups run, but nobody checks them

Jobs fail silently for weeks, and the gap only shows up during a restore.

Ransomware can reach the backups too

Backups stored on the same network as production can be encrypted in the same attack.

Important work only lives on laptops

Files that never reach a server are lost with a stolen or broken device.

Nobody knows how long recovery would take

Without agreed recovery targets, a server failure turns into days of downtime and guesswork.

The solution

How we solve it

Backups you can see, copies you can trust, and a plan for the bad day.

Managed, monitored backups

R2 Backup Manager schedules and tracks backup jobs, and failures are flagged and followed up — not left in a log.

Copies kept away from production

Backups are stored off-site and isolated from your production network, so one incident can't take out both.

A real disaster recovery plan

We agree recovery point and recovery time targets with you and design infrastructure and runbooks to meet them.

High availability where downtime isn't an option

Proxmox clustering, redundant infrastructure and IsoViro hosting with redundant power and multi-homed connectivity.

FAQ

Questions we're asked

What's the difference between backup and disaster recovery?

Backup is having copies of your data. Disaster recovery is the plan, infrastructure and process to get the business running again — how quickly, from where, and in what order.

What are RPO and RTO?

Recovery point objective (RPO) is how much data you can afford to lose, measured in time. Recovery time objective (RTO) is how long you can afford to be down. We design backups and DR around both.

What is the 3-2-1 backup rule?

Keep at least three copies of your data, on two different types of storage, with one copy off-site. It's a good minimum standard, and we use it as a starting point.

Do you back up Windows as well as Linux?

Yes. We protect Linux and Windows servers and critical endpoints, managed together under one plan.

Can you work with the backup setup we already have?

Yes. We start by reviewing what you have and keep what works — then fill the gaps in monitoring, off-site copies and recovery planning.
